A friend of mine recently sent me this to me in the course of an e-mail discussion we had concerning the worsening situation in America, the dramatic rise of Leftist ideology and the importance of the upcoming elections

Politics are downstream from culture, and the traditional American culture, the cultural environment that every American over the age of 45 grew up in, has been systematically destroyed.

Call them what you will, Liberals, Progressives, Leftist (LPL), they now own the culture. From movies, to TV, to music, to the newsroom – it’s all in the service of the LPL worldview.

This worldview is openly disdainful of any conservative values, and indeed mocks the very notion that there are conservative values, much less that our country was founded and built upon them.  It is a culture that brooks no dissent, is relentless in its attacks, and is now ubiquitous. Other than a few small outposts, try to escape it.

There is a very good reason that liberals act like they will never lose another national election, quite aside from the voting irregularities that we have witnessed during the last several election cycles.  It’s because they believe that their nearly complete control of the culture will consistently produce the results they desire.  In this I believe that they are largely correct.

As an example; the current administration’s policies have had disastrous effects on minorities and young people (unemployment, underemployment, mandated overpriced health insurance, monstrous debt, etc.) yet many of these young people could never, ever, bring themselves to vote for a conservative.  The culture they have been stewed in their entire lives makes it impossible.

Not only have they been relentlessly and effectively propagandized that conservatives are (fill in the blank) racist, sexist, heartless, stupid, rich, exploitive, Christianist, homophobic, bigots etc., they also have never been given the tools to even begin to make rational judgments about human nature, ethics, the proper role of government/civics, or the exceptionalism that defines our history and their proper birthright.

Worse, they don’t even realize that they have been propagandized! How are they to know that their education has been deficient?  How are they to realize that they have been cheated out of knowledge of their history and western culture?

Finally, how are they to escape the clutches of the LPL culture they swim in?  From listening to NPR?  From reading the Huffington Post, Daily Beast, or Salon?  From watching CNN, MSNBC, the Daily Show or Colbert?

They have been lead to the altar of progressive humanism like sheep, and put on the plantation, useful now for their votes, expendable in the future as necessary (like when we “legalize” 30 million new “citizens.”)

Out of the LPL culture, two great villains stand out.  The first is the education system, and the second is our news media, who are already beginning their attacks on any conservative/Republican that might – even might – be able to challenge Hillary Clinton in 2016.

As an epilogue to this writing my friend provides this from Malcolm Muggeridge, English journalist, author, media personality, and satirist (1903 – 1990) musing how history will recall Western civilization after our inevitable fall…

“So the final conclusion would surely be that whereas other civilizations have been brought down by attacks of barbarians from without, ours had the unique distinction of training its own destroyers at its own educational institutions, and then providing them with facilities for propagating their destructive ideology far and wide, all at the public expense.”

While my friend’s dour predictions are spawned at least in part by the fact that he’s a Scotsman, they may indeed come true if we don’t pull up from the nose-dive we are most definitely in.

Wake up America!  And if you’re already awake (likely, since you’re reading this) then you have to act NOW to awaken others to the rapidly approaching dangers we face.
