Listening to the abortion debate renewed this morning by the illegal release of a draft document from the Supreme Court regarding a potential revisit of the infamous 1973 “Roe v. Wade” decision.
From the Left, I’m hearing the same tired argument; “My body, my choice!” Yeah… except when it comes to COVID vaccines, I suppose.
What happened to “Follow the science”? A fetal heartbeat is detectable at less than six weeks of gestation, which is often sooner than many women even know they are pregnant. Yeah, follow the science… except when it comes to determining when life has begun, or how many genders there are?
And when I say “the illegal release”; it’s a felony to release Supreme Court documents. But you’ll only hear that discussion if you follow Conservative news because the Left is heralding this, as yet unknown, individual as a “champion of women’s reproductive rights”.
There are already renewed calls from the likes of Senator Schumer and other Congressmen on the Left to end the filibuster and “pack” the Supreme Court, and for term limits for Supreme Court Justices. Many Leftist media talking heads are even calling for the U.S. Senate itself to be dismantled!
I predict that this criminal will never see justice or the inside of a courtroom, and if they are ferreted out and fired, they’ll have a job on MSNBC within a week.
I’m hearing the Leftist talking heads blather about how the Supreme Court must uphold “the will of the American people”. The Supreme Court does not rule on the will of the American people. They rule on Constitutional rights. I don’t believe that abortion is a Constitutional right. I believe that Roe v. Wade was a flawed decision. It establishes a manufactured right loosely based on the Due Process and Privacy clauses contained in the 14th Amendment. But we can debate that all day long, and of course, Roe v Wade has been debated for decades. But we cannot debate the basic Human morality of murdering unborn children. Murder is murder, and the murder of unborn children is beyond the pale.
It’s perplexing to hear Leftists tell me that Roe v. Wade makes abortion a “Constitutional right” (along with medical care a la the Affordable Care Act), out of the same mouth they tell me that freedom of speech and the right to keep and bear arms are not Constitutional rights.
And then there’s the underlying, pathetic hope from the Left that this happenstance will bring them votes in November… at the altar of the deaths of yet more unborn children. Something like 53 million abortions have been performed since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, and many of those abortions were funded with federal tax dollars.
Federal tax dollars should not be provided to fund abortion. Neither should federal tax dollars be provided to Planned Parenthood or any other organization that provides abortions.
And now for the really controversial part of this particular e-mail; if you vote for Democrat politicians and give your vote and your money to their causes and coffers, you are part of the abortion problem. If you hold your nose and vote Democrat telling yourself, “well, I agree with so much else they do”, you’re flirting with the devil.

“Democrats are committed to protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should be able to access high-quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion. We will repeal the Title X domestic gag rule and restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood, which provides vital preventive and reproductive health care for millions of people, especially low-income people, and people of color, and LGBTQ+ people, including in underserved areas.”
There is no question that the DNC supports abortion.
So, when your Pastor stands up at the pulpit and preaches to you that we’re all the same and that it’s just wrong to judge our fellow Christians based on their political beliefs… well, on that last point I disagree.
Many of my fellow Christians are Democrats. Are Christian Democrats still Christians? Sure, they are. Are they contributing directly to the ongoing and open sin of the Democratic Party? Yes, they are.
My fellow Christians and I can debate many topics that contest for American votes and campaign contributions all day long, and I welcome that debate. Topics like how high taxes should be, how difficult it should be to immigrate legally and become an American citizen, how aggressive our foreign policy should be, how much we should spend on defense, or whether and how much deficit spending should be allowed, and on and on.
But my Bible tells me of God’s Prophet Jeremiah (in Jeremiah 1:5), “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Was Jeremiah the only child formed by God in the womb? Certainly not! It’s God who forms each of us in our Mother’s womb and imbues each of us with life.
Solomon brings me his revelation from God in Psalm 127:3 writing, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”
Exodus recounts to me the story of Moses and the Ten Commandments, and states quite simply (in 20:13), “You shall not murder.”
My Bible is full of references to the humanity of unborn children, and of the sinful nature of murder.
We cannot debate whether abortion is murder… at least I will not engage in that debate.
This morning I’m seeing crowds of women parade in front of the Supreme Court building proudly wearing t-shirts emblazoned with the slogan “I Had An Abortion”, and waving signs (unbelievably) reading “Abortion Saves Lives”, and I wonder what kind of a country I’m living in.
