According to the World Health Organization, since the onset of COVID in late 2019 to date (late April of 2023), at least 3.3 million people have died worldwide from the disease “directly and indirectly attributed to COVID-19”… whatever “directly and indirectly” means. Some sources put the death toll as high as 6.7 million, which should give you some idea of how questionable the data really is.
Of course, these figures have been manipulated for political reasons. Up in some cases, in the U.S. and other Western nations, for example, in order to drive public hysteria and garner support for drastic quarantine measures. Down in other cases, in China, North Korea, Russia, and other dictatorships, for example, to control populations and manage exterior public perceptions. But let’s use the much higher 6.7 million figure.
That’s a lot of death, but it’s certainly not the greatest cause of death. Although listening to the evening news for the last three years you might easily come to that conclusion.
In fact, there’s a conspiracy theory going around that proposes that COVID was literally designed by a cabal of evil billionaires to “depopulate” the planet. Although, even if COVID has killed 6.7 million people that’s still less than 1/10th of 1% of the 7.9 billion people who live here. So, at that level of lethality, COVID isn’t a very effective killer for their evil plan!
No, there are several more effective killers around. Let’s have a look at some of them.
The World Health Organization estimates that between 14 and 15 million people die every year from various types of heart and circulatory diseases – mostly heart attacks, strokes, and circulatory obstructions. If you wanted to depopulate the planet it would be faster to encourage a high-cholesterol diet!
United Nations statisticians estimate that between 9 and 10 million people die of starvation every year. So, if you’re looking to rapidly reduce the population, it may be better to develop a blight that takes out 25% of the planet’s wheat, rice, or corn production.
Death from warfare comes and goes, of course, but can account for another few million dead. So, let’s average that to, say, 3 million annually, although that’s probably high. Small wars are being fought somewhere just about continuously. But short of protracted world wars, or the feared nuclear war, they really aren’t the killers we think they are.
Traffic accidents actually account for about as much death as warfare every year due to their regularity, already taking another 1 to 2 million lives annually around the world, with that number increasing annually with the number of cars on the road.
So, every year starvation, disease, warfare, and traffic accidents account for 30+ million deaths worldwide. Considering that number, the total of all COVID deaths across the three-plus years we’ve all been hiding in our homes really doesn’t seem like all that much, does it?
But there’s a far more lethal killer roaming around in plain sight. One that many of us actually encourage, and cheer on. One that’s often funded by our governments and protected by our laws.
According to the World Health Organization, every year throughout the world there are an estimated 40 to 50 million abortions carried out. 42.6 million innocent children were murdered through abortion in 2020 alone.
More than 120,000 innocents are murdered, around the world, every single day. Abortion ‘wins’ the death race every year… year after year after year.
Abortion beats COVID, starvation, all major diseases, traffic accidents, and even warfare combined. Abortion is the single greatest cause of death on our planet… and we do it to ourselves… to our own children.
Here in America, we have parades and rallies where tens of thousands of supposedly sane adults assemble, waving signs and wearing brightly colored clothing proclaiming “I Love Abortion”, “Abortions Save Lives”, “Abortion is Women’s Health Care”, and “Honk if You Love Abortion”. It’s perhaps the most divisive issue in American politics, maybe even eclipsing gun control.
But the issue of abortion is also dividing our churches as some who call themselves Christian Pastors actually attend these same rallies supporting the cause of abortion and preach pro-abortion sermons from the pulpit, all in the name of Jesus.
Less radical Pastors at churches I’ve personally attended over the years have often told me that the political Left in America is not evil, any more than the political Right is evil. They just have different views on “certain topics.” But they avoid detail on exactly what those “certain topics” are. Of course, one of those “certain topics” is abortion… now, recently, up to post-birth abortion.

“Democrats are committed to protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should be able to access high-quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion. We will repeal the Title X domestic gag rule and restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood, which provides vital preventive and reproductive health care for millions of people, especially low-income people, and people of color, and LGBTQ+ people, including in underserved areas.”
There’s no question that the DNC supports abortion, and would see tax dollars provided to pay for it.
So, if you vote for Democrat politicians, and give your vote and your money to their causes and coffers, if you hold your nose and vote Democrat telling yourself, “well, I agree with so much else they do”, you’re already dancing with the devil. You’re already part of the abortion machine – part of a global murder machine that claims the lives of more than 120,000 innocents every single day.
And, when your Pastor stands up at the pulpit and preaches to you that we’re all the same and that it’s just wrong to judge our fellow Christians based on their political beliefs… well, on that last point I disagree.
Many of my fellow Christians are Democrats. Are Christian Democrats still Christians? Sure, they are. Are they contributing directly to the ongoing and open sin of abortion and murder of the Democratic Party? Yes. Yes, they are.
The Word of God is quite clear on the topic of the validity and life of the unborn in the womb, of the sin of the murder of innocents, of the value of children, and how He has a plan for each and every one of us, even before we are born…
“You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews. You have granted me life and steadfast love.” Job 10:11-12
“But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.’” Matthew 1:20
“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself.’” Isaiah 44:24
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!” Psalm 127:3-5a
“Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart to serve me. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
“When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. [And she exclaimed], ‘when the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.’” Luke 1:41, 44
“The Lord called me from the womb… formed me from the womb to be his servant.” Isaiah 49:1, 5
“‘You shall not murder’” in Exodus 20:13, and again in Exodus 23:7, “Do not kill the innocent and righteous.”
In fact, there are at least 16 Bible verses in which the Word of God refers directly to His creations being alive and known to Him in the mother’s womb. Yet more than 120,000 times a day we ignore God’s law, and ignorantly and blindly murder our own children… and satan smiles.
So, who’s the better killer?
